Project History & Objectives

For the first time ever, Lehigh University has started its form of Robot Wars. Its is integrated into a course called Engineering 98, but the goals are specific. The main goal is to design an optically controlled robot which will battle for fixed position in the center of the playing area. The last robot remaining in the winners box at the end of the time limit wins.

FEATURE PRESENTATION

GOLIATH

My teams robot kicks ass. It is the biggest and the heaviest. Too bad it is also the slowest. We went with a dual motor high-torque design. We also went with wide tires for super traction. Our high stress chasis is made from plexi-glass and protects the wheel wells by enclosing them. The robot is optically controled (laser pointer) and can go in every direction except reverse. Bexow are some pictures:

Here is a picture of me drilling some holes in

the chais of the robot.

This is me designing and creating a new

torque resistant engine mounting bracket.

Our sheet metal one was not strong enough

so we reinforced it with plastic.

This is a picture of our prototype all taken

apart. The overall design is still the same

but we improved a few features.

More pictures to come!
