(1) Robert, "The Valiant", Count of Artois, born 1216. Died January 8th, 1249. Son of Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castile. He married Matilda of Brabant and had daughter Blanche. (2) Blanche d'Artois, died May 2nd, 1302. Daughter of Robert and Matilda. She married twice, as follows: (*) She married 1st to Henry I, King of Navarre, by whom she was mother to Jeanne I, Queen of Navarre and France. (*) She married 2nd to Edmund, Earl of Lancaster, by whom she was mother of Henry, Earl of Lancaster.
