East Coast Trip May 23 to June 2, 1998
The trip began Saturday with a flight to Providence, Rhode Island, and then a drive to Newport.
On Sunday May 24, we attended a baseball game between the Red Sox and the Yankees at historic Fenway Park. The game was not very good, a Yankee rout. But the seats and the day were wonderful.
In Newport, we did a lot of things. One of them was to take a harbor cruise on a cool, chilly day. We looked at the boats and mansions along the harbor.

A trip to the Battleship Massachusetts in Fall River Massachusetts was exciting for Duncan.

On Thursday Duncan and his Dad explored the restored old seaport village at Mystic, Connecticut. One of the neat sites was the only remaining wooden whaling ship. It was built in the mid 19th century.

We also made trips to Cape Cod, Walden Pond, Salem, and Southern Maine. Some pictures from there will be added when time allows. The high temperatures were usually in the 70s and low 80s. We returned to Austin and triple digit temperatures. A good time was had by all.
