The Radical Right's Relationship With God By Sherwood C. Ensey April 29, 2001 |
Romans 1:22 - Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
Part of the work that I do investigating the radical religious right takes me deeply into the world of the radical right's religion, and part of that work is monitoring the radical right's religious television programing, like Pat Robertson and his Christian Broadcasting Network's, the 700 Club.
On the Tuesday, April 24, 2001 production of the 700 Club, Pat Robertson got into a discourse on the situation in Israel, between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and the problems that Palestinian and Arab terrorists are causing the Israeli government. As many people already know, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and much of the rest of the radical right community, are extremely strong supporters of Israel, and that the right is very outspoken and critical about the Palestinians, other Arab's, and the Islamic religion in general.
On the April 24th 700 Club, Pat Robertson got into a detailed discussion on a particular method that the Israelis have been using, and continue to use, for keeping Palestinian and other Arab leaders under control. The method being used by the Israelis, and which Pat Robertson talked about in full detail, is called selective assignations, or as those of us who disagree with this practice like to correctly call it; the sanctioned murder of the oppositions leaders. Murder is murder, and it is not an act of love, compassion, or is murder morally right.
Pat Robertson went into great detail how the Israelis have perfected the practice of sanctioned murder against Palestinian leaders and other terrorists, and how he, Pat Robertson, had suggested this practice to the Israelis many years earlier. Pat Robertson went on to gleefully talk about how glad he was that the Israelis were finally practicing this selective removal of Arab terrorists, and how much better off Israel was since the Israelis had begun the selective practice of removing terrorists in their midst. The smile and happiness with this process of sanctioned murder was all over the face of Pat Robertson, and on his face was the expression of pure delight and contentment about the murders the Israelis were committing against their Arab neighbor's, and brethren.
It seems that Pat Robertson and his so called Christian followers, have forgotten God's commandments about murder, and how we are to love our fellow man, no matter what, and that we are not to do any harm, especially murder, to our fellow humans on this planet.
Leviticus 19:18 - Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self: I am the Lord.
Leviticus 19:17 - Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: Thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
One of the greatest sin's that one can commit, and one of the greatest crimes against the Creator, is to commit murder on ones neighbor, but for Pat Robertson and many other Christians, murder has becoming a laughing and smiling matter to be condoned and sanctioned, and it is to be done with happiness and delight. Murder is a sin, plain and simple, and there is no excuse for it, especially for those who supposedly believe in the teachings of Jesus. There is no true Biblical way, with God and the truth of Jesus in it that Pat Robertson and the right can use, to justify the sanctioned murder of other human beings, whether they are Arabs, or doctors that perform abortions.
Robertson speaks for millions upon millions of Christians, so when Pat Robertson smiles with happiness about the sanctioned murder of our fellow humans, he is also smiling with happiness for the millions upon millions of Christians that he and the 700 Club are representing. So in effect, these millions of Christians that are paying out tons of money to Pat Robertson to be their spokesman, are also taking part in condoning the murder of their fellow humans through the process of selective assignations, which Pat Robertson and the Christian Broadcasting Network have so wholeheartedly approved of. When Pat Robertson speaks, and condones the actions and deeds of sanctioned murder, then Pat Robertson's radical right Christian followers become conspirators in the act of murder, by financially and morally backing the harmful actions and words of Pat Robertson.
Hosea 6:9 - And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
Romans 1:22 - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator...
Yes, if there is truly an eternal life for Christians, as stated in the Holy Bible of the radical right Christians, then Pat Robertson has thrown away his eternal life. Not only has Robertson thrown away his eternal life, he has also thrown away the eternal life of the multitudes of Christians that support him, because these Christians and followers of Pat Robertson, and what he teaches, have implicated themselves in the unforgiveable deed and deplorable sin of approving sanctioned murder.
1 John 3:15 - Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer; and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
1 John 3:18 - My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Jesus commanded that his followers and others who abided by his words, would love one another, and that they are not to commit murder, but rather humanity is to follow love, and to do good to others, no matter what the circumstances:
Matthew 5:44 - "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you..."
Matthew 19:18 - "Thou shalt do no murder..."
Pat Robertson and millions upon millions of so called Christians continue to miss the main message of what Jesus came for, and what Jesus was really all about. The man Jesus, who Christians and priests have made into a money making and power controlling symbol for Christianity, came to tell humankind about a new way to live, based on total love for each other. This aspect of Jesus has never sat well with those who want to control the wealth and the power of the world, because a society and civilization based on the concept of total love for one another, defeats the select minority who want most of the wealth and power for themselves. The true message of Jesus, which is about total love for one another, overcomes the wealth and power for a select minority, and this is something that the select minority, like the radical right, do not want. So it is easier to instill fear, and fear through the intimidation process of sanctioned and condoned murder, and to preach instant salvation and instant redemption [which is a lie], than to teach the real and factual truth about why Jesus came, and that reason is a new world and way of thinking through the process of total love for our fellow humans. This is why Pat Robertson, and radical religious right Christians like him, do not believe in the common good of humanity, because this belief of total love leading to the common good of humanity, conflicts with the select few having control over the majority of the wealth and power.
If you are a Christian, and you don't believe those words, then believe in the words of Jesus, and listen to them well, for they were said for you, and for the hope of a new kind of humanity towards each other; a humanity based on love, and not on murder and hate. Those that follow the path of true love, and the commandment that love is supreme, are the friends of Jesus, and those that do not, are not his friends.
John 15:12 - "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
John 15:14 - "You are My friends if you do whatever I command you."
John 15:17 - "These things I command you, that you love one another."
If you don't believe that instant salvation and redemption is a concocted and manipulated lie of the Christian religion industry, as I have stated that it is, and that an individuals actions and deeds [their works] do not count the most, and that a person will not be judged the most on their deeds and actions [their works], then many Christians are going to be eternally dead wrong! Ones deeds and actions speak loud and clear for who and what they are. As Jesus put it in Revelation:
Revelation 2:33 - "And I will give to each one of you according to your works."
So, if you happen to be a Christian, and you are reading this article, and you support and condone Pat Robertson and other radical religious right Christians, who happily support and condone the sanctioned murder of humans though the process of selective assignations, then you believe in and support the murder of others, and murder is contrary to a Christian being given eternal and everlasting life through Jesus. Pat Robertson has thrown away all his chances for eternal life by supporting the murder of others, are you willing to take the same chance on throwing away your eternal life by supporting him, and other radical right Christians that think, speak, and act like him?
It is clear that Pat Robertson and many other radical right Christans like Robertson, are not representing a God of light, truth, love, and good. Jesus summed up the God that these radical right individuals represent:
John 8:44 - "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer [and supporter of murder] from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: For he is a liar, and the father of it."
So in the end, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and the other leaders of the radical religious right, have intentionally conned and manipulated the followers of the right into believing lies that miss the main truth of what God is all about, and the real meaning and reason why Jesus came to Earth. The truth is here for those that want to believe, it is here to read and hear, but the hearing is up to you; I have merely brought the facts and the words to you to hear; the hearing and believing is up to you. If you are a Christian, and whether you choose to delude yourself and suscumb to the lies of the religious right is your choice, but it was best said at the opeing of this article; "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."
