The Drum Beat of the Right-Wing Marches On

The Drum
Beat of the Right-Wing Marches On
By Sherwood C. Ensey
June 21, 2001
Let's talk right-wing definitions.
Lately, a lot of right-wingers interested in spreading disinformation about the liberal/left and attempting to enhance their far right extremist conservative position, have been engaged in a smear campaign of liberal/leftists and characterizing the liberal/left as being fascists. These same right-wingers have also made reference to Adolph Hitler and the fascists being aligned to the left.
If you belong to the 'right' what does the 'right' mean? The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language calls the right: "a. The people and groups who advocate the adoption of conservative or reactionary measures, especially in government and politics. Also called right wing," and; "b. The opinion of those advocating such measures."
This first definition confirms the fact that right-wingers who attempt to call liberal/leftist's fascists, are actually engaged in one of the right-wing's favorite tricks and games; disinformation. Or simply put, right-wingers are making up bold faced lies to make the liberal/left look bad in order to bolster, and shore up their right-wing position.
So what does right wing mean? The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, describes right wing as being, "The conservative or reactionary faction of a group." Many far right individuals, like Rush Limbaugh, Richard Scaife, John Whitehead, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and others with heavy ties to the right, definitely fit into that conservative or reactionary category, and this definitely confirms the fact that these persona's are right wing.
I can hear the right-wing crowd howling right about now: "Well that fact still doesn't make us fascists, and linked to Adolph Hitler and the Nazi's!"
Oh, but yes it does. According to the Encarta Encyclopedia and other similar references, the word "Right Wing" is directly tied to: "Conservatism, Radicals, John Birch Society, Fascism, and National Socialism [Nazism]." The Nazi "Brown Shirts" were right-wing fascists, and this is confirmed, once again, by The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language: "Brown Shirt or brownshirt is 1. A Nazi, especially a storm trooper," and "2. A racist, especially a violent, right-wing one."
"Everything I do is done within
sight of the Führer, so that my faults or mistakes are never hidden
from him. I do my very utmost to live and act in such a manner that the
Führer should remain satisfied with me; I am hard-working; but whether
I shall always be able to cope with the tasks entrusted to me in the future
as well, is an open question."
Martin Bormann (1900-1945), German
Nazi leader
Does that quote sound vaguely familiar? It sounds like a modern day sound-bite from the radical right and its programming. Just replace the word "Führer" with the word God, and you have it.
"Hermann Goering, Joachim von
Ribbentrop, Albert Speer, Walther Frank, Julius Streicher and Robert Ley
did pass under my inspection and interrogation in 1945 but they only proved
that National Socialism was a gangster interlude at a rather low order of
mental capacity and with a surprisingly high incidence of alcoholism."
John Kenneth Galbraith (b. 1908)
Once again, another quote that also sounds vaguely familiar, and very current. A President named Bush, who is an alcoholic and has a family full of them, and a President who every time he opens his mouth and speaks, shows to the world what a "low order of mental capacity" he has. Look at the Bush administration full of Scaife right-wingers that are out plundering the public coffers at will. The Bush Administration and the right-wing powers that are a part of it, look more like a "gangster interlude" than a boni fide Presidential Cabinet!
Things in society that past & present fascist right-wing powers want, and continually work towards: 1.) Education regarding birth control & abortion banned., 2.) An official State Religion., 3.) A free reign to big business and reduced workers' wages., 4.) Labor unions abolished, strikes forbidden, and political opponents silenced., 5.) The creation of a viable society by strict regimentation of national and individual lives [the purpose of a State Religion & education under the control of it]., 6.) Conflicting interests in the nation to be adjusted by total subordination to the service of the state and unquestioning loyalty to its leader [the US Supreme Court handing over the US Presidency to George W. Bush]., 7.) Glorification of the position of the right and continually denouncing the liberal/left as nothing more than evil communist's, and putting a total stop to anything associated with the liberal/left.
"Our movement took a grip on
cowardly Marxism and from it extracted the meaning of socialism. It also
took from the cowardly middle-class parties their nationalism. Throwing
both into the cauldron of our way of life there emerged, as clear as a crystal,
the synthesis- German National Socialism."
Hermann Goering (1893-1946)
With an imaginary changing of a few words here and there, the above could easily be reconstructed as part of the current right-wing credo: "Our movement took a grip on cowardly liberalism and from it extracted the meaning of socialism for our cause. It also took from the cowardly middle-class and poor their sense of patriotism and nationalism. Throwing both into the cauldron of our right-wing way of life there emerged, as clear as a crystal, the synthesis - Federalist Nationalist Socialism." And it could have been as easily said by Dick Cheney or Richard Scaife, as it was by Hermann Goering.
...And the drum beat of the right-wing marches on.

UN Human
Rights Commission Gives US the Boot!
The Roundhead Watch
By Sherwood C. Ensey
May 04, 2001
Members of the United Nations Human Rights Commission voted overwhelmingly to remove the United States from it's seat on the international commission that investigates the worlds Human Rights violations. The various worldwide members of the commission decided that a number of polices being generated by the radical right and the Bush Administration, were not conductive to the United States being allowed to continue with a seat on the Human Rights Commission. The members of the commission were not very specific on what the exact policies are that bothered them, but you can bet that one of the policies that the commission did not agree with, is the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998.
The International Religious Freedom Act of 1998, also known as the Freedom From Religious Persecution Act, was passed by both Houses of the United States Congress, and then tacked onto an emergency Budget and Spending Bill that former President Bill Clinton was forced to sign in order to keep the government running. Clinton could not veto out the Freedom From Religious Persecution Act from the rest of the Congressional Budget & Spending Bill, because the radical right Republican element of Congress had intentionally stripped away the right of President Clinton to have a line item veto. Had former President Clinton had the power of the line item veto, he would have vetoed the very bigoted and controversial Freedom From Religious Persecution Act out of the emergency Congressional Budget & Spending Bill.
The Freedom From Religious Persecution Act was created by radical right Republicans, and then slyly and manipulatively passed into law by the radical right, for no other purpose than to politically try and force Christianity down the throats of other countries where Christianity is not particularly wanted, or encouraged. The Freedom From Religious Persecution Act violates the United States Constitution and US law, by declaring and establishing that the United States government is not neutral in it's attitude towards religion, and that the United States government is committed to conforming to a particular religious belief. The US Supreme Court has stated in the following decisions, that the attitude of the United States having to conform to a particular religious belief, and not being neutral towards religion, is unconstitutional, both in practice and in law:
"In the relationship between man and religion, the State is firmly committed to a position of neutrality." Abington v. Schemmp (1963)
"When the power, prestige, and financial support of government is placed behind a particular religious belief, the indirect coercive pressure upon religious minorities to conform to the prevailing officially approved religion is plain." Engel v. Vitale (1962)
The United States government has no constitutional right or authority to decide what religion is proper, or not proper, for it's citizens, or for the citizens of other countries. Each nation has it's own sovereignty and attitude towards religion, and the United States has no right, moral or otherwise, to make that decision for another country, or to interfere with that decision making process. If anything, the United States is to lead and show to the world by example, and not to enforce like it was the block bully pushing everyone else around until they conformed.
The Freedom From Religious Persecution Act, passed into law by the radical right Republican US Congress, and endorsed, sponsored, and approved by the radical religious right elements of the United States, is an insult and a slap in the face to other countries religious and political sovereignty. It is also an attack on the basic human rights of people all over this planet, by attempting to establish that the only right and correct religion is Christianity.
The Bush Administration policy not to reduce the carbon-dioxide emissions created by fossil fuels, which the United States creates 25 percent of in the world, is an attack on the health of humans all over this planet, and not just in the United States. As a result, the failure to adequately contribute to the improvement of the health of the people in the world and in the United States, by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, is a direct attack by the United States, on the human rights of people everywhere.
The Bush Administration abandoning the Kyoto Treaty on global warming, and calling the sound and factual science surrounding global warming as junk science and a fad, is another attack on the human rights of people all over this planet. Since the early 1970's, carbon-dioxide levels have been steadily on the rise, and as a result global warming has been increasing at an alarming rate. The results of this global warming has created a change in world wide weather patterns, causing millions upon millions of people to suffer because of these catastrophic weather changes, which are the direct result of global warming. The more that global warming increases; the more people around the world that will suffer because of it.
In the latest blow to the worldwide common good of humanity, the Bush Administration has decided that a massive military buildup is needed for the United States, and included in that US military buildup, is an increase in the previously abandoned nuclear arms race. Not only does the Bush Administration and the radical right want to increase the proliferation of nuclear arms, it wants to use those nuclear arms on nations like Libya, Iraq, Iran, China, and other nations, which are unwilling to capitulate and bend to United States demands. This attitude threatens the safety and health of every human on this planet, and is a direct threat to the basic human rights and life of every individual on this planet.
Bush and the radical right support, and even encourage the private ownership and proliferation of guns, and the sanctioned assignation [murder] of individuals, which the radical right considers to be terrorists, and with the right, just about anyone opposing the right and their policies is a terrorist. In an ever expanding world looking for ways to create real peace, harmony, and love, among each other; radical right and Bush Administration sanctioned murder and gun proliferation is counter to those goals, and again, is a direct attack on the common good and human rights of people everywhere.
The radical right and Bush coup during the 2000 Presidential Elections caused the world to look at the United States in a whole new and negative light, because if what happened here had happened anywhere else in the world, the United States would have been screaming foul and demanding that something be done about it. Instead, the world watched as the Bush coup went on, and the radical right took over the reigns of power in the United States, just like the world watched Hitler and the Nazi's take over Germany during the 1930's. The world became alarmed over this radical right coup, and they see the takeover of the United States by the Bush Administration and the radical right, as much a threat to the human rights of those on this planet, as the world saw Adolph Hitler and the Nazi's in the 1930's.
The United States deserved to lose it's seat on the United Nations Human Rights Commission, and if the United States is not careful, and they do not get rid of Bush and the radical right, they are likely to keep on losing a lot more. The world does not like what it see's with the Bush Administration and the right, and neither do a majority of Americans. The United States getting the boot off the UN Human Rights Commission is a warning to the United States; straighten up your act and get rid of the corruption, and the abuse, and change your world attitude, and quit being a bully, or get ready to lose a lot more.
While Franklin D. Roosevelt and his Administration gave the United States a 'New Deal' in the manner of human rights, the George W. Bush Administration and his radical right Republican cronies, are giving the United States and the rest of the world, 'The Great Rape' of human rights.

A Tale of
Two George's
By Sherwood C. Ensey
April 17, 2001
The following open letter was originally written to George Washington by Thomas Paine. Since George Bush likes to think of himself like he was George Washington, I find it fitting that this open letter also fits George W. Bush to a tee, so The Roundhead Watch openly rewrites the open letter of Thomas Paine, to you, President George W. Bush, an illegitimate President of an illegitimate government:
"And as to you, sir, treacherous in private friendship and a hypocrite in public life, the world will be puzzled to decide, whether you are an apostate or an imposter; whether you have abandoned good principles, or whether you ever had any."
Like Washington, President Bush never abandoned his good principles; they both never had any to begin with. Both sold out their principles very early; for the power and wealth associated with Federalism, and right wing conservatism.
Both Washington and Bush, never gave the opposition any fair share of government, and both men sold out the financial interests of the United States to their Secretary of Treasury.
Bush like Washington, has revived the corpse of public debt, and also seeks to put stricter limitations on the bankruptcy laws, thereby undoing equal and fair debt protection for the masses.
Bush in his first 100 days in office, has gone back on his promise to reduce CO2 emissions, and his promise to protect the environment, by abandoning the Kyoto Treaty on global warming. In addition, Bush has also reversed a previous Presidential Executive Order prohibiting corporations and businesses who have been found guilty of a crime, from securing Federal contracts. By reversing this previous legal order, Bush has demonstrated that he openly advocates and approves of enterprises who have been convicted of criminal activity, like ALCOA, of getting Federal contracts from the government. Washington like Bush, went back on his promises - Washington promised the masses a repuublic, but instead, gave them a Federalist oligarchy, and Bush continues the lies, by giving us a more polluted and corrupt Federalist oligarchy.
George Washington sold his nation out, for a few pieces of silver, to the forces of Federalism, by favoring rich special interests, and President Bush is following this same Federalist and conservative practice.
To help further the Federalist right wing conservative movement of the time, George Washington and his Federalist allies, created a witch-hunt, and hysteria like conditions, by making it appear that the French revolutionaries were the enemies of America. George W. Bush and his Federalist right wing conservative allies, are also creating a witch-hunt, and hysteria like conditions, by making it appear that the mainland Chinese are the enemies of America. George Washington did this to build up and fund his own version of a military industrial complex and political base, and President George W. Bush is doing the same thing, for the same identical reasons.
George W. Bush, like George Washington, favors a strong right wing conservative Federalist government with the bulk of the benefits and power to the wealthy class first, and whatever is left over after that, can then go to the masses. George W. Bush, like George Washington, thinks of himself as the ultimate and supreme leader that can do no wrong. Washington's favorite song was "God Save Washington," sung to him, in the tune of "God Save the Queen," and if George W. Bush could get away with it, that would also be his favorite song and tune.
Economic disparity was a problem for Washington, and is also a problem for Bush.
George Washington and his Federalist allies believed in a weakening of the constitutional protection of Freedom of Speech, with stricter laws controlling what could be said and printed, and George W. Bush and his Federalist allies also believe that there should be a weakening of those same constitutional protections regarding Freedom of Speech, with stricter laws restricting what can be said and how it can be said.
A tale of two George's, both hypocrites and liars, both in bed with rich right wing conservative special interests heavily linked to Federalism, and both thinking of the common good and welfare of the masses as a last place concern. Not much has changed over the last two hundred years, except the faces of the players; the names remain the same.
