I. GENERAL INFORMATION
Western Visayas or Regiona 6 is the land of friendly and affable Ilonggos. It is a beautiful region blessed with many picturesque scenes, vast natural resources, rich cultural heritage and a magnificent race. It is the home of the world famous Boracay Island.
The Region is composed of the Provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Negros Occidental and Guimaras, including the two Chartered Cities of Bacolod and Iloilo. It has eleven (11) Component Cities, 120 municipalities and 4,048 barangays. Iloilo City is the Regional Center of trade, commerce, industry, education, culture and government. The Region is also subdivided into 18 congressional districts broken down as follows: Aklan - 1; Antique - 1; Capiz - 2; Guimaras - 1; Iloilo City - 1; Bacolod City - 1; Iloilo Province - 5; and Negros Occidental - 6. Based on September 1, 1995 census, Western Visayas has a population of 6,776,938. The total land area of the Region is 20,223.77 square kilometers.
Rice, corn and sugar are the most widely planted crops produced in surplus and supplied to other regions. Poultry, livestock, fish and marine resources are likewise abundant.
Tourism is being considered by the government for further development in view of the various natural attractions that are already in place.

The most peaceful, safest and best secured region in the Philippines and internationally regarded as "Globally Competitive", such that our people and their guests from abroad, especially foreign investors and tourists, could freely go, and legally do and say what they want anytime, anywhere in the region, without fear of anything or any one.
2. Vision for Police Regional Office 6
A professional, dynamic and highly motivated PRO6, working in partnership with responsive Western Visayas Communities, towards the attainment of a safe place to live, work, invest and do business.
B. THE PNP "DREAMS"
1. Dispersal of the police from the headquarters into the streets and enhancement of crime prevention and control (LOI 22/98 - Bantay Kalye and LOI Siyasat thru COPS
2. Restoration of the trust and confidence of the people on their police and gain the community support (LOI 25/98 - People's Day, Morale Recovery Program, Value Formation, and the like).
