Remember when I told you two yahoos that the Canadian dollar was way over valued and propped up by the US economy? Have you noticed how low the Canadian dollar has sunk just from the START of this year never mind the last quarter of last year. Aitch is right again! The Canadian economy is the US economy and when America sneezes we catch cold. Be prepared for further devaluations. The true value of the Canadian Robert, You must take account of all the facts if you are going to make the argument you did. Canada's dollar is doing shit because it has nothing to back it up and everybody knows it. Fully 10% of the Canadian economy is domprised of guess who? The Big Three automakers or, as they really should be referred to, America. The reason the American currency value has not slipped off as much as it should have (and as you noted) is because of two reasons. One, the fed. reserve is kind enough to keep interest rates phenomenally low and thereby maintains confidence and profitability in US currency speculation and exports/imports (among other things). And two, the banking system is utilized heavily to "bail-out" American firms and transnationals who get in finacial shit. Interestingly, big business, which is always bitching about getting govt. out of everything, is the first to call upon it when they get splashed with shit and need somebodyto save their sorry asses. An end to govt. involvement would be quickly followed by an end to big business but the stupid bastards in the board room are too dumb to figure that out. Britain is benefitting from the fact that it was wise enough not to jump into the ECC currency debacle earlier this year and has therefore avoided getting splashed with shit on that financial front. Its currency has not been devalued as a result. The rest of the world (including Canada) got clipped with flying turds coming out of SouthEast Asia near the end of last year and is still paying for it now. The world's financial markets are way out of control but have managed to maintain the illusion that they have been able to stabilize themselves. Look no further than the Dow Jones Industrial index if you want proof of this. The DJ broke 6000 in the fall of 1996. Now, less than 2 years later, it is in a position to break 10,000. This growth is incredible but completely unsubstatiated. The economy has not expanded but hasactually contracted in all relevant areas upon which growth of this magnitude HAS to be based. Most disturbing of all is the fact that we have seen occasional and quite dramatic "corrections" in the markets already. SouthEast Asia aside, one correction I remember specifically was near the start of this year. By corrections I mean larsAmerican multinational corporations will only piss them off. When they do eventually blow his ass out of the water they will take more than they initially asked for in an effort to teach other would-be resistors of the fate that awaits them. Just ask the Vietnamese of the Mexicans how this works. Not coincidentally, Canada's share of the national oil patch is shrinking. And, surprise, surprise, "the (U.S.) share has increased," says Alan Knowles, an analyst at Canaccord Capital Corp in Calgary. "The industry in Canada is still dominated by Canadian companies but the percentage ownership probably has gone down." What is notable in all this is the fact that the CAN$ has fallen in value only recently. Buying decisions take time and foreign companies will consider decisions carefully before jumping in. We are only in the beginning stages of the sellout of Canada. Expect more in the fall when longer-term situations are more easily predicted. Incidentally, don^Òt expect anything from your elected officials- they sold you out a long time ago. Notice their brilliant leadership so far. Not a fucking peep. That is the role that big business wants them to play. Leadership is bad, it holds the potential to motivate the people, and that can^Òt be tolerated. The scenario they want to work towards is one that is best characterized as creating a mentality in the people which echoes the cry of ^ÓResistance is Futile.^Ô Remember that the next time you stroll into Walmart to make a purchase. Now, to summarize. Elected officials have been bought and paid for. The plan that was initially implemented with the Free Trade Agreement, that being the steady and deliberate takeover of Canada^Òs natural resource industry by the Americans, has not moved as quickly as they would like. Consequently, things have been accelerated. No defense will be offered by federal government leaders but instead the opposite will transpire, these ^Óleaders^Ô will make it easier for the scam to take place. After all, in Canadian politics, like the US, there is but one party with two divisions: Big Business represented by the Conservatives and the Liberals. Just pretend they^Òre different. The Canadian people will remain passive, largely ignorant to the entire process. Ultimately, and not too long from now, the process will have progressed to the point where it is too far along to stop it. Did you know that a proposal had been submitted to have the American flag fly at an equal height as the Canadian flag from the Canadian Parliament Building? Also, did you know that the Americans have almost finished construction of their new embassy in Ottawa? It looks remarkably like the White House. Get the picture? Know this when you go to sleep tonight, you will awaken to a weaker country tomorrow. As is often the case, and as many of you have witnessed not so long ago, when Aitch speaks the spoken word it becomes fact. It is a sad fact of being the True King of All Media that this ability is his. However, fulfilling the role of passive obediance to American interests, Canadian Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, sought to do the very thing I said the elected officials would do: to attempt to keep the people pacified while failing to provide any form of decisive leadership to guide the country through tough times. Instead, what do we get? "Don't worry, be happy" from the Prime Minister. It's like that scene from Titanic where the ship is going down, people are dying left, right and centre, everybody is screaming, and the band sit there playing a collection of crap, typically tight-assed tunes that nobody but them are interested in. Here we have the Canadian economy going down the crapper on an hourly basis and the PM is out playing golf! He can't even come up with a halfway decent line of shit that at least sounds half-credible on the surface. Instead, we are blessed with, Things were a lot worse "When I came to office ..." Yes, apparently Jean you liked them that way and you don't mind recreating the circumstances which prevailed when you came to office. It would appear you're giving it your best shot. Remember what I say folks. This is part of a much bigger plan. This failure, in fact, this steadfast and deliberate refusal to offer any kind of leadership, is part of a coordinated effort to fuck you up the ass. Bend over. Minions, I realize some of you are concerned due the lack of Gospels that I have been circulating lately. I call this "Gospel Withdrawal" and if not treated properly it can prove fatal. I also realize that you feel this is due to additional work on my part. This is simply not true. It is just because I don^Òt a fuck sometimes. Sometimes I want to kill, sometimes I want to cry, sometimes I could give, and sometimes, I never give a fuck. This has been one of those times. So, with that said, what is new in the world that is slightly more worthy of discussion than the process involved in taking a piss? American and Romanian officials announced Friday that Romania is well on its way to becoming a member of North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This is an interesting process. Romania, formerly a communist country, is about to join NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Or^ined to approve military measures in that part of the world. This makes defence spending easier and justifiable, and keeps the domestic population focussed on a perceivedthreat and thus keeps their minds off the important issues and real threats that exist at home. Those of you who have read George Orwell^Òs 1984 will recognize this as a distorted version of the Two Minutes Hate. One more point you hear little discussion of is the valiity of the threat concept. If Saddam was planning to use these weapons, if they are still not all destroyed after eight years, how big a threat can they really be? Ask that question and American foreign policy takes it in the ass. The reply you^Òll get from the Americans in typica Yankee drawl will go something like this "Er, ... um....hmmm, .............. well, ..uh......."
