New York SP Variations

I now have a dark blue New York State Police vehicle in my collection.

The first issue New York was a medium blue in color with yellow markings. The emblem on the door has two eagles on it. This is not correct. I believe the correct car has two females on the emblem. The Alabama car has two eagles on the door emblem and I have heard that is where the mistake came from. It is difficult, at best, to see the detail of the emblem.

A better clue to version is on the hood of the car. The error car has "STATE POLICE" in yellow letters on the front edge of the hood and the corrected version doesn't.

The error car has "STATE POLICE" in yellow letters on the rear bumper and the corrected version has it on the top of the trunk.

The corrected version is a dark blue but the shades of blue only matter for id purposes if you have both cars side by side. Then it is easy to say which is darker blue.

Thanks to "Jay S." for suggesting this information be added to the site.
