Abortion. One of the probably most commonly debated issues in America. And what's being
debated? If someone should or shouldn't have the right to do what they want with what's growing in
their body. People on one side argue that abortion is wrong and should be outlawed because it is the
murder of a person, even though the person has never been born. But you'll find that vast majority of
these people that actually protest abortion are Christians, and do so because the bible says that
abortions are wrong. Of course, if the bible said each woman must have an abortion to get into
heaven, then they'd be lined up by the thousands at the local abortion clinic.
Also, some of these people are white racists who believe that Jews are helping to abort more white
babies and ensuring that blacks are having many babies. Few of the people that protest abortion
actually because they think the murdering of a fetus is wrong. In fact, without the bible, there's
probably a good chance that many of the current protesters would be off somewhere else being
brainwashed by another book. But even if the person that believes that killing a fetus, according to
their values, is wrong, they still have no right to take away the right of others to have an abortion.
But many of the people fighting against abortions point out that if they didn't want the baby, they
shouldn't have been having sex. Or unprotected sex. But one thing they ignore, what if they used
birth control? It isn't 100 percent full proof. They didn't want they baby, and were responsible about
having sex. Or what if the girl was raped? Would they bend the law to rid her of some other man's
baby? I doubt it. But they might. And what if they did succeed at outlawing abortion? Then girls will
try homemade abortions, such as punching themselves in the stomach or using a clothes hanger. And
what about all the babies that they had "saved" from death? Well, if the parents wanted an abortion,
what makes you think that they'll want the baby once it's born? Many will probably try to put it up
for adoption, but with the increased number of babies, less and less will be adopted. Other frustrated
parents may take on the challenge of raising the baby, which could result in a good life for the baby,
or one of abuse, or possibly even death. So there's one side of it. The people fighting to keep
abortion legal are pro choice, not necessarily meaning that they support abortion, but they do believe
that the decision should be the choice of whoever is carrying the baby, not the government.
Basically, the whole debate is whether or not the government can have control of a girl's uterus,
which they shouldn't be able to. It's the her uterus, it should be her choice.
