Hello,
I'm sure you don't know me but I am the future of tomorrow, the
youth of today. And I want to voice my opinion strongly against the
SB1100. I feel that this bill is unconstitutional and violates the
first admendment which guarntees the freedom of speech. And yes, you
may argue that these are not the kinda things that children under 18
should be seeing, and I can agree with you there even though I myself am
15. But I do believe that the choice of whether the child should be left
up to the parents of the child, not a committee. Once again I believe
that this is a law trying to take the parent's place in deciding what is
apporiate for their children to see. This will also hurt the artists who
make music because it will stiffle their creativity, allowing them to
create music and lyrics within a certain limit because they would lose
money from the lack of audiences because of this rating. This bill
should be voted out and should have died in conception. It is
unconstitiutional and will prevent the spread of ideas. And true, these
ideas may be bad, such as many that you probably pick from such music as
Marilyn Manson, etc. but they may also be good. Music is the voice of
change and I refuse to stand aside and let it be silenced. I urge you to
vote against SB1100. I have argued my case. I can only hope you see
things my way. Thank you for your time.
                                        Sincerely,
                                            Sean X
