The Harry Fox Agency today indicated that they would not be sending OLGA a 'cease and desist'
letter but would proceed directly to issuing a summons against OLGA. OLGA has closed as a good
faith gesture to attempt to dissuade them from this action.
This message was relayed to OLGA by the OLGA-LAC. The OLGA-LAC has been in contact with HFA to ask what HFA perceives as OLGA's crimes and for information regarding licensing and other options. HFA as been entirely unforthcoming with any details while insisting that the matter be resolved by June 8th. Today (June 9th) the chair of the LAC received word from HFA that legal proceedings would be initiated. In response to this, OLGA closed. HFA has not yet responded to the closure.
The closure will begin affecting mirrors immediately as the 'daily' sites will be unable to update. It's likely that many mirrors will elect to close for fear that they will be treated similarly by HFA.
