In spite of numerous problems faced by the party in countering certain issues faced by the grassroots at Kampung Kayu Ara and Kampung Sg. Nipah, the campaign to capture Subang intensifies. Both the above kampungs are path of the Subang constituency and face serious eviction problems. Kayu Ara just lost a court case and is in the moth of demolition while Sg. Nipah, after two demolitions, the settlers have rebuild their homes for the third time. Till today, more than 40 houses are up.

The campaign to capture Subang in the past two weeks concentrated in meeting key leaders and house to house campaigns at crucial areas. The party after completing three reprints of leaflets is going on their fourth reprint of leaflets which carries the party manifesto and an introduction to Socialist Party of Malaysia.

Among crucial areas covered during the last two weeks are Kampung Bharu Sg. Buluh, Kampung Sg. Kayu Ara, RRIM Sg. Buloh, Kmp. Sg. Kedundong, Kmp. Melayu Subang, Ldg. Subang, Taman Subang, Subang Perdana, Kampung Lindungan, Desa Ria, Kmp. Penaga, Lembah Bena and Kampung Melayu Indah. The mood of the people seems very encouraging and people everywhere seem to seek an alternative government. Besides that there is also some element of fear how the Dr. M regime will play the last few hours before polling.

The Subang campaign will next concentrate on working class areas at Kelana Jaya especially the low and medium cost flats. The campaign will concentrate in meeting key contacts and house to house campaign for now.
