OPERASI TAWAN SUBANG - VOLUNTEERS MEETING

USJ, 17th. October 1999

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) had its first volunteers meeting in preparation of the coming polls. The party, which will be standing in one parliamentary seat and one state seat, had its first volunteers meeting at its operation office at USJ, Subang Jaya. Around 40 volunteers attended this meeting.

The volunteers were briefed about the Subang seat and previous poll result. The volunteers were also briefed about the party's manifesto and its relationship with other parties especially Barisan Alternative. The volunteers were then briefed about work, which needs to be done in stages especially before nomination day, nomination day, and campaign period and during the casting of vote date.

This is the first meeting among a series of meeting with volunteers for the Subang constituency. The party also discusses in situation, where a three cornered fight cannot be avoided, then the party would need at least 500 person volunteer team. More meetings will be held soon to discuss volunteers roll during this period.

The meeting ended with a discussion on current political scenario and short introduction on the party's candidates.
