![]() Star Gazette March 17, 2000 Letter to the Editor Freedom to Vote, - Where? It has taken a year to find out I vote at the Fairgrounds. Where? Yes, the Fairgrounds, Why not Elmira Heights? Cause Fairgrounds is closer? I called the Board of Elections and was told basically, "you vote where you hang your hat!" Well, if I hang my hat on the Voting Booth of either location, can I vote there? I agree with Bonnie Marks in her letter of 3/16/2000 on the handicapped issue. As we all know, if your business is not equipped for handicap accessibility, The Code Enforcement Officer will be knocking on your door. Guess I better just "wear" my hat so I don't get a ticket from Code Enforcement saying I hung "Garbage" at the Voting Booth. Can't be? Ask Mr. Sindelar what happened to his antiques and building materials after the Code Enforcement Officer, gave him four (4) Appearance Tickets, the Village Justice called him a criminal, and he watched as they hauled his possessions away while he cared for his semi-comatose daughter, Carla. Even though I have not put a child through school, I pay school taxes for others; does that give me Freedom to vote where I want? Nope. I urge the people who know what they want in their voting areas, to stand up and voice their wants, "Freedom of Speech," you know. It is no BS, the Bonnie Marks - Bob Sears team need your write-in votes. Get your voice ready. Wouldn't you like to see M - M on the billboard for "Mayor Marks?" The lady who will keep her hat on! Oh well. I have two boxes, one says Heights, and one says Horseheads, no email please. |
