I believed it was a parent's responsibility to care for their child, but soon discovered the legal consequences of my decision as crafty lawyers surfaced like cockroaches deceptively conspiring to steal the small amount of accident settlement available to her.
Furthermore, judges took the position of God; "I'm only looking out for Carla Rae's best interest" was blurted out! Referring to Carla's mom and me, like we just crawled out of a rain barrel. During this unconscionable treatment of parents who dearly loved their child, it seemed everyone had a voice in what was to become of her but us.
Twelve years later, Carla and I still felt the wrath of the law, and how miserable they could make it for us. In spite of it, I grew a small investment into a substantial sum of money in the stock market.
Living well below the poverty level, I still chose not to touch our market gains but leave them for Carla's future care in the event something happened to me. When my accountant, MR. WILLIAM CAVALUZZI OF CAVACO MANAGEMENT GROUP, LTD, (CAVACO) told me taxes were due on the money even though nothing was withdrawn for ourselves, I wrote a check for $10,155.00, to the IRS, and $3,606.00 to NY State. The check was written on an account set up for Carla's care. It didn't seem prudent to sell stock to pay the taxes while the market was down.
Sometime later, IRS sent a letter requesting payment. I telephoned them immediately but after a long delay, hung up. Numerous conversations later revealed they lost my check. My method of payment was explained then, and on countless future dates. Each required in-excess of one to two hours, while my entire daily sleep window was only four. Because of its importance, I persisted until an Agreement was reached and the matter could be put to rest. When it appeared "safe", a replacement check and letter in compliance with our Agreement was mailed as directed.
The IRS could not possibly have received my tax return without the check. Communication between IRS, Mr. Cavaluzzi (CAVACO MANAGEMENT GROUP, LTD), and myself continued long after fulfilling our side of the agreement. See copy below of letter written by Jerrilee M. Harvey, Operations Manager, of CAVACO, December 29, 2000.
"Mr. Robert Sindelar has a daughter who is disabled due to a car accident and he cannot leave her alone. Due to this circumstance we at Cavaco prepared his returns and took them to his home for him to sign and then mail these returns for him. I personally as an employee of Cavaco mailed the returns for 1998 and 1999 together with a check from Mr. Sindelar's account on the 15th of April. We are requesting abatement of the penalties involved for the above period as the client wrote out the checks and an outside party mailed the returns to the Internal Revenue Service on the due date."
So the matter was now closed right? Wrong, not until they killed my daughter. For the next two years hounding persisted. Lies, deception, arrogance, and a complete lack of decency was their lot. Using the "Lawyer - Snake" approach, they batter a victim until he's no longer able to resist. Now, victory is easy and assured.

Pictured with Carla is Chemung County District Attorney John Trice, and one of Carla's nurse's, Chris Leonard, LPN. Carla trusted them; or she would either have been unresponsive or looked the other way.
I often told Carla that Mr. Trice was a "good" man, a friend who would not allow people to harm us anymore. Chris, being her normal-affectionate self also put Carla at ease; and as seen in the photo, Carla trusted and liked Mr. Trice.
Unfortunately when called upon he reluctantly said, "I can't take on the Federal Government" and offered the name and phone number of a tax attorney. Knowing him as I do, he probably has second thoughts.
Had the IRS been UNwilling to abate penalty or interest, it would have represented a small sum and been included in my replacement check for $10,155.00. In addition, Mr. Cavaluzzi confirmed that the matter would be closed upon receipt of the check and supporting letter, as per his conversations with IRS. Failure on their part to safeguard and cash my original check should not have warranted charging me penalties and interest. Their "statement of charges" was so erroneous as to bewilder Wendy, Office Manager for Congressman Houghton.
On the November 21, 2002 phone conversation between Grace Condon an IRS Representative and myself, it was agreed that until an Appeal could be effected, I would pay $50.00 a month beginning January 28, 2003 for the release of Tax Levy sent to my bank. I received my signed copy November 29th. Previously I had telephoned the bank as per instructions by an IRS Representative advising that under no condition should they send my funds to IRS because it would appreciably delay the return of my money once the Appeal was affirmed, thus entailing further hardship.
I noted the response as being accepted, unless IRS demanded the funds whereby the bank would then immediately notify me by phone. On December 04th, as indicated on correspondence from my bank, the IRS was given a check cleaning out my funds. I immediately phoned the bank and was told that, "they came in to the bank and demanded the funds and we had to give it to them..." this is the straw that broke the Camels back and the rest is previously stated. My daughter is Dead!!! The IRS again reneged on their own agreement, I became seriously ill, and the rest is history, sad and cruel as it may be.
Now we have two (2) broken agreements, and wrongful death. There was never any question about the validity nor accuracy of my tax return. A Replacement check covered the check IRS lost. A letter by the tax preparer substantiated my declaration of how and when my payment was sent. To Cover the first IRS error, I agreed to a monthly payment agreement to remove their wrongfully applied Tax Levy. IRS instructions were followed to the letter even though smelled of malfeasance. What did I do wrong? What did my daughter do wrong? Why is she dead, leaving me in horrible disarray, and the IRS still sending Demand Payment letters about every six (6) months? What more could been expected of me to resolve a conflict not of my doing, but that of the IRS?
Please allow me to give further information relative to my daughter and circumstances leading up to her death. There must be suitable punishment and retribution for those involved in the IRS's wrong doing. Something to sufficiently cause a smile on the face of a "truly beautiful" daughter, peering down from beneath Heavens clouds.
If God is Real and Alive, and I believe He is, let not this be a total waste. Let some measure of gratification to Carla be forthcoming. I want nothing for myself. God Knows, Carla was all I had to live for. It was me being helped by her remaining nearly thirteen years beyond the time Doctors said she would live. I pray she now receive her just due. Her death must not be for naught. If any Justice abounds, the time for putting down this heavy cross has arrived.
Let a poor child, someone's forgotten and aged parent or crippled child who has seen nothing of the good life see the true color and light of day. Let this be in Carla's Honor, and the Glory of God. This much I asked of you Senator.
Pictured above, you viewed a photo of my beautiful daughter Carla. Here you see her "dead," at age 31, tragically, December 13, 2002 after several grueling years of unnecessary suffering at the hands and negligence of

Surrounding her are dozens of Xmas and Sympathy Cards which most, are unopened but appreciated, and none have been acknowledged with Thank You cards yet. Pictured (right) Carla and her dog Beauty who she dearly loved, and cared for like a mother.
Deplorable actions by IRS and their Representatives caused stress and exhaustion that lowered my resistance to a level sufficient to catch a viral, or flu-like condition. During that time, nurses entering our home to care for Carla exhibited signs on three separate and distinct occasions of having cold or flu symptoms. In all likelihood, this was the source of my disease. Under normal conditions however, my immune system may have protected me, therefore the direct cause of illness must still be attributed to actions by the IRS.
a) Nurses sent to care for Carla while ill, promoted additional cause for the tragedy that ensued.Notwithstanding numerous other dangerous policies and practices exhibited by health care agencies involving patient, client, nurse relationship, such practice places all, at odds with each other, thus exposes patients to grave danger contrary to an adequate wellness program. Clients, Caregivers and Patients tend to develop a low self-esteem and thereby lose their will and or ability to produce satisfactory and expected results. Insecurity and a feeling of being dealt with unjustly, breeds hostility and lends itself to physical and psychological distress. The Healthcare profession is no place to demonstrate tepid or callus conduct, either by Private, Agency, County, State, or Federally sponsored programs.
b) Nurse Scheduling by agencies was at best incompetent, and created dangerous "no shows".
c) Agencies place clients at great risk while presumably enhancing their own method of operation.
Agency Managers, Department of Social Services, and County Administrators were made aware of a growing problem for both Carla and others within our area. Nurses themselves were aware of my concerns from the onset of employment either as subcontractors, or on an Agency payroll. A nurse was never to come on duty with a cold, flu, or viral type symptom, as it could prove fatal to either my daughter, or me. I was a factor because of my status as primary care giver.
It is also important to Note: Carla's nurses did the very best job they were capable of doing. As with, and in all things, I felt more comfortable with some, and surely the feeling was mutual. Notwithstanding, our overall working arrangement was excellent.

Pictured right: RN Debbie Eagen, Carla's last Senior Caseworker. To the extent able, Debbie did her best to provide adequate care and supplies to Carla, but it was obvious she was understaffed and budgeted. Time, AS all people in her position have to give, and when lacking, seriously undermines the recovery for those she serves. I've known Debbie from early into Carla's return home and believe her to be honest and forthright. Our first meeting was the result of a "hot line" investigation which like all previous and those to follow, backfired on the caller. Being a parent herself, Debbie knows first hand the duties and obligations of her job. Similar attributes can be applied to elected Officials. They too, have a duty and obligation to those they pledge to serve. Little defense rests with "officials" caught red-handed treating animals in a manner similar to that of county residents with impunity. Let’s hold them accountable. Good folks like Debbie and most nurses are not the cause of problems dealing with healthcare, but are the battering rams used to take the heat for its failings and shortcomings by higher-ups.
To set aside any notions of "my seeing money as a remedy", how much for your child? But, a Kenya Embassy lady wrote, "You could fund a foundation to help other people like Carla and name it after her. That might be a fitting memorial to her and help you live with the horrible daily challenges you are left with. " She went on to say, "People in our country would give anything to move to America, but little are they aware that the corrupt political problems they hope to leave would be there for them" With no shortage of hurting people, her advice does have merit.

"We have the greatest opportunity the world has ever seen, as long as we remain honest -- which will be as long as we can keep the attention of our people alive. If they once become inattentive to public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors would all become wolves." --Thomas Jefferson.
The local Media Co.'s listed below had an obligation to us and the community, but responded with "...it's not newsworthy."
All were told of the danger IRS placed Carla in one day before her death. The rest of my life will be spent wrestling with this and other questions. We each tried to live a respectful life, though never walking in Jesus footsteps, Carla, came as close even in sickness, as anyone I've know. Would an additional hour as requested by nurses have prevented this tragedy? Maybe, but unconscionable actions by the IRS, was the chief factor causing her death. They still mail Demand Letters, even after telephoning their PA. Regional Office to inform them of Carla's demise. I am not alone folks in asking who, or why?
The second time the county promised Carla additional hours was also a travesty. Theirs was total disregard for the safety and well-being of human life while creating financial and emotional crisis on families by threatening their child's removal from THEIR home. Heaven forbid, I receive in excess of two hours sleep while providing twenty-two hours of care on average. No "sane" person will believe this short of documentation, which can be provided. If Carla were your daughter, wouldn't you demand more than two hours sleep a day for her caregiver? Was that asking too much? Was asking to be left alone unreasonable? The rest of my life will be spent wrestling with these and other questions.

Material removed consisted of legally stored and neatly stacked Antiques, and Building Material, while they left water damaged items under a metal storage shed with collapsed roof. Code Officer failed to recognize and remove Asbestos pipe lying on property prior to purchase in early 1950. Suffice to say, his failure to recognize and remove hazardous material while taking all items of value shows he wasn't stupid. Elmira Heights Cathy Phalen, LPN pictured above with Carla.
Neighbor disturbed by village action located and photographed items believed to be mine, on private property. Present whereabouts unknown do to my inability to follow-up on lead. Nevertheless my neighbors efforts are appreciated.
1) Financial hardship and deep emotional stress injurious to care of daughter.
2) Injured leg & shoulder muscles uprooting tree roots in yard as Ordered.
3) Depriving Carla of care during recovery, and preparation of court defense.
4) Loss of nurses resulted from disharmony and egregious high level stress.

As time went on, her mother spent less and less time with her, and after about six months took her sisters advice to gain control of Carla and her accident settlement. She didn't want any of the money personally, but wanted to make certain I couldn't get it. She of all people should have known that it was needed for Carla's care.
1958 Photo of her mother Marjorie Sindelar King. Her ATTORNEYS put the legal machinery in motion, but their chicanery failed. In fairness to her mother, she wouldn't take a cent of Carla's money for herself but it proved to be a major issue with her. As with any grief stricken mother, she didn't need the additional pain inflicted on her by the selfishly motivated "bad" advice of sisters and lawyers, devoid a conscience.
Unable for five years to settle Carla's accident lawsuit, it became necessary to make application to Surrogate Court for sole guardianship for a brief period of three months. That gave me time to file a Note of Issue with the Supreme Court to prevent the insurance company from having the case dismissed for "lack of prosecution." Now a tremendous disadvantage to settle existed, but we had no choice because of interference by opposing lawyers concerned only with what they would get for themselves and to Hell with Carla. Shamefully, not long after an approved settlement and trust was put in place to assist with her future needs (those not covered by government agencies), the IRS, Social Security, and Medicaid attempted to attach it. I understand Mr. William B. Ogilvie, Esq. prevented that from happening. Had Carla received the care and benefits promised by government agencies, neither of us would have resisted their taking it.
In March 1997, I had an ambulance take Carla to the hospital for what resulted in Gall Bladder removal. Previously, her mother, family, friends, volunteers, and myself gave her care. Before her release, I asked for a nurse to accompany us back home, and assist thereafter as needed. On March 18th, she arrived back home, but without a nurse! My inquiries NOW revealed, a home evaluation must first take place and would take a week or two. Meanwhile an Attorney said, "if you repay the $3,340.96 the County paid for Carla's supplies since her accident, you will get all the equipment, supplies, and nursing care she needs, and you will be able to live a life of near normalcy." He sent a check on the 19th, and on the 24th, Carla was given home nursing, but when a Physical Therapist requested two more hours, they took away two. They begrudgingly gave her four hours a day and waited patiently for me to collapse so she could be put in a nursing home.
When in my home on December 18, 1998, a DOH supervisor did not answer when asked why it was cheaper to put Carla in a nursing home rather than increase her nursing hours. I reminded her that on earlier visits she always told me to take care of myself because if anything ever happened to me, Carla would be put in a nursing home and it would be a horrible thing to do to her because she wouldn't last long. "Is that why it's cheaper", I asked? She responded with, "the County makes the rules..." Then I said, "I saw Mr. Flory on TV saying he cut over 53% from Medicaid and Welfare!" Kate, how can your father brag about taking from the poor, sick, and elderly?" At that, she resigned from Carla's case. Since, a Social Security representative said I probably saved the County over $700,000.00 caring for Carla at home, and he didn't know why they wouldn't consider that.
For nine years we endured numerous Hot Line investigations but because reports were favorable, they "backfired" on the caller, still they continued right up to her Birthday of October 23rd, 1999.

Absent hostility and coaching by attorneys involved, and the infusion of guilt and anger exploding out of it, Carla's story may have had an entirely different and happier outcome. Greed and hardened hearts fatten the pockets of politicians and lawyers, but starve innocent victims of the love and care so desperately needed. In spite of this, Carla's excellent skin, hair, and other physical attributes make it appear as though she is just lying down resting, and if her eyes are closed, comfortably napping.
As in previous photos, she didn't look her best having her picture taken lying in bed with her hair not brushed and no makeup. Most, would object to having their picture taken under such circumstances and by dad who wasn't a photographer and barely able to see.
"The High Office of President has been used to foment a plot to destroy the American's freedom, and before I leave office I must inform the citizen of his plight." - John F. Kennedy, 10 days before his murder, Nov. 22, 1963.
Carla smiled after I promised to buy a motor home after the market improved so she could visit friends, and by January, she could have had it. After tasting the pits of hell, happy time was in order. It can't happen for her now, thanks to a greedy, arrogant, IRS. Like all who work, money was deducted from our pay for "the best health care money could buy," but Uncle Sam reneged. Would you expect compliance? Was what we got a good tradeoff? I don't think so.
Carla showed remarkable signs of improvement and looked more beautiful each day.

Carla didn't even receive a decent burial. Not because money wasn't available, but when met at the funeral home by her nurses, "You should let us take you to the hospital," was voiced. To many, it may seem strange that I had no shoes, but sufficient money stashed safely away for emergency care for Carla. When very young, my parents took me to the hospital to have my tonsils out. After what seemed like an eternity.... I was presented a gift - that came in a box. I'm sure my mother, would not believe what I am about to tell you. Like any typical young boy back before World War II, guns and outdoor toys of all description made my eyes, really light up. Back then, bicycles didn't come with training wheels so riding one at the age Carla did was not recommended.

Having matured to a weak "old man," the IRS presented me with a gift - that came in a box, at a time when

Carla is seen here enjoying two suckers. She loved Arby's, Root Beer floats, and practically anything she could take by mouth. Unable to use her hands to turn the suckers, she still managed quite well to make short work of them. In snapping this photo, she turned her head away because of a hair roller in her hair. I should have known better. Carla hated having pictures taken, and as you can see was not vegetative or paraplegic as stated on County reports. Getting back to the suckers, two gave more flavor than one and it wasn't often she could have one for lack of supervision. Then came the toothbrush and paste to prevent cavities.
Her nurses were good at personal care and the extra hours I was promised would have meant so much toward staving off this hellish nightmare. There were

For over ten years, I begged the staff at Congressman Houghton's office located a few miles north, to send someone to do a quick walk through our home, spend a moment with Carla, and report back to the Congressman on what they'd seen. Said to be a "caring man", I expected some help. Too much confidence was placed in him as it turned out, because although they did assist me with Social Security, and on one occasion did contact Assemblyman Winner's office to expedite a couple more hours of nursing, the favor I asked was never done.
The day preceding Carla's death, I spoke with a courteous lady at Assemblyman George Winner's office, who promised assistance but I never heard from her again. In addition other politicians and major news media were contacted without success. My cries for help also included the Elmira Star-Gazette, Fox News in Corning, and our local Radio Station WWLZ in Elmira Heights. NOT ONE showed any sign of compassion what so ever. Their implied impression was, "don't bother me, yours is not a news worthy event."
In preparing this for Senator's, Charles Schumer and Hillary Clinton, it is hoped one, will place some importance on what happened and how needless it was. My goal is to alert other concerned Politicians, Medical Experts, Care Organizations, and news media and perhaps good will triumph over "future evil." Naturally it is, and has been on Carla's web site and others. Prayerfully someone in position will look into what's happened in the United States since our "Welfare Reform" policy was initiated. Did it help anyone but the wealthy? For many years I felt our economic base was dependent on a stable cash flow at the bottom rung of our economic ladder. In my estimation, our devastating economy and frustrations stem from stripping the poor, sick, and elderly of basic needs. Also, some good people lack the ability to function sufficiently to earn a living wage. We must as a society, exemplify the Love, Freedom, and Prosperity, America has to offer, and refrain from acting like a third world Gestopo thrusting it's inhumane treatment beyond one's wildest imagination onto the least among us by the fittest. It's time America wakes up and sees the arrogance and danger imposed by a rich nation of Hippocratic thugs and seemingly uncaring Bureaucrats. Please let me leave you with something else my parents often repeated, "Do unto others, as you would have them do onto you."
1) No money was owed to the Internal Revenue Service.
A) IRS Defaulted on Oral Agreement to clear interest and penalty charge
for tax yrs 1997-1999 in exchange for $10,155.00 Replacement check.
B) Countless phone conversations took place over many weeks before an
Agreement was reached for Replacement Check because of lost original.
C) If IRS was not willing to abate penalties and interest, amount due for 1999 tax
year was insignificant relative to size of check and would have been added.
a) Lacking an Agreement, my position was to move the matter to tax court
b) Re-file 1999 tax year, & include Nursing deductions to offset income.
2) On Nov. 21, 2002, IRS agreed to lift their levy on my bank account but reneged.
A) It was an unusually cold winter and NYSEG (Elect & Gas) expected payment.
B) The Phone Company sometimes turned off my service for late payment.
C) The Water Company discontinued service on at least one occasion.
3) December 4th, 2002, IRS reneged on agreement and stole my bank account.
A) Carla died on December 13, 2002
4) Carla was entitled to 24-hour nursing care.
A) For the first seven years, Carla DID NOT receive County Nursing Care.
B) Chemung County Social Services Demanded $3,340.96 to be paid
for ancillary expense before approving home health care assessment.
C) County Reneged & supplied Inadequate number of Nursing Care hours.
D) Equipment & Supplies often obtained by Carla's mother or myself by
necessity of outright refusal or delay by County to provide them.
E) Carla's hours Revoked or Reduced without notice on occasion and
at critical times for reasons that wouldn't pass the "giggle" test.
F) C.A.R.E resisted attempts to acquire a Medical Doctor saying, County Doctor's
won't make house calls. If you want Carla to see a Doctor you have to call an
ambulance to take her to a hospital causing her to be deprived of a Doctor.
G) The IRS caused Carla's death by creating insurmountable problems for me.
Little County help was available, now depression restricts my ability to supply
information requested, which for Carla has little meaning now anyway.

Carla’s first priority after Dr. Kane arrived was to stare up at his shirt pocket, which may have reminded her of my pocket full of small tools used for working at my Television repair business. These keystrokes will become but a ghost of the terrorism we suffered throughout the years at the hands of our government and Justice System. If not for friends like Rev. Kleinsteuber, Rev. Harkness, and others like Dr. Kane, Lane Wrenn and his employee’s at the Flower Cart, we may not have made it this far.
Carla is gone now, but I sense her smiles and envision her waving "goodbye", happier by the appearance something of value might come out of her ordeal. As in the case of others who undergo needless tragedies, a degree of comfort and closure comes in believing someone we've never met might be spared the years of anguish and hell we went through and of sacrifices Carla was shamefully forced to endure. The fact she fought so valiantly for so many years shows the champion and warrior she was. Some folks may have a slightly less difficult road to travel because of her.
The mysterious "wiping" of my hard drive adds difficulty in putting together information regarding IRS. Documented proof of cruelty perpetrated against us is here somewhere and as always, with time it will be located. A bigger pack rat never lived, but security resulted from knowing most of what we ever needed was here somewhere " save us a lot of money.
For each year the IRS tormented me and caused great suffering to Carla, I will supply at least one letter. For each and every phone call consuming valuable time that should have been devoted to Carla, or sleep, I will include at least one piece of incriminating information relative to the heartless, criminal malfeasance they displayed. If I fail to match their Evil - with incriminating evidence, it will only be because my health has been rapidly eroding, partly because sleep is still not possible. The old reason for not sleeping is gone, but new reasons have arisen. I'm finding it difficult to shed a habit developed over nearly thirteen years. Pastor Kleinsteuber before his death prayed vigorously as Carla lie in her bed peering up at him and smiling - "Lord, I bear witness to three miracles in this home. Carla, on her way to being made every "wit" whole (he couldn't seem to express "b"), the food formula you helped Bob make for her, then after stopping a few seconds, And, "Oh Lord, Your keeping Bob fit and able to do Your will for Carla by working with her day and night without sleep, in seeing to her needs."
Pastor Kleinsteuber came to visit Carla at least once, and often twice a week. When he arrived, it was always without notice, but what a blessing. However, an individual named Eleanor Sample in trying to have Carla removed from my custody caused a belief that Pastor K was trying to get something on me for Social Services and her mothers Attorney's (as stated by another close friend). On one occasion I confronted him and he slumped down on my sofa and confessed in tears that said individual did come to him and convince him he should help Carla and her mother. He went on to say that after further investigation, he told her to never spread anymore such Gossip or he would expose her. Rarely had I felt so bad about confronting someone about something, I should have known the gossip was without substance. Pastor K was truly a remarkable man, and as close to God as any man of the cloth I'll probably ever know. True to his word Pastor K was the best friend and counselor from that time on one could hope to have in a lifetime. His prayers and affections openly displayed toward Carla did much to extend her continued progress. Without his efforts and coming to my aid when I was down, spared Carla an earlier demise without a doubt.
The Pastor's wife Marjorie pictured right is a beautiful lady, he said "a tremendous wife", and I'll add, one who tried very hard to help me for several years, both before and after Carla's Accident. She often came with her husband to pray for Carla, and did what they could for me during the early years after her tragedy. Carla's mother had deserted in the winter of 1987, and so Carla had already endured plenty of hardship prior to her accident. It was a horrible experience for each of us and if not for Pastor K's wife Marjorie, perhaps unbearable. Carla was a true Saint.
Along with trying to continue her grades in school and keep me in order, she and a cousin Wendy, at the ages of thirteen went to our Watkins Glen Radio Shack Store and keep it open while I tried to manage the Elmira Heights Red Ten Electronics Business.

We were truly blessed and fortunate to have had people like those mentioned come into our lives. Although it has been said, nothing but Love ever come out of Pastor K's mouth. Even in explaining the situation referred to earlier, he was able to do it in such a way as to allow love to overshadow the hate that could have erupted. A day or two before his death, Pastor K turned just before leaving and said, "You were right Bob, Carla would be on her feet today even without help from the County if they just left you alone! Chemung County is a Cesspool of Injustice." We gave

Yes, I feel sorry for myself, but as in life, even a beautiful rose has it's thorns. So too, for many of Carla's friends and family. God placed many good people in our path, and it's only fair to mention Carla's Aunt Mary Aumick of Corning, who passed away a few months before she did. She often came with Carla's mother to visit her. I believe it was on Carla's 28th birthday that her Aunt Mary came to visit her alone, touting a helium filled balloon. Carla liked it so well that each year thereafter, the nurses made certain Carla got one on her birthday to which many attended. The Party was hosted by Micki Stull, a very special and dedicated nurse to Carla and possibly one who cared for her the longest. Micki was very well liked by her friends and patients alike. As luck would have it, she lost her dad on the 4th, and Carla died on the 13th of December, making Christmas that year less than enjoyable and one she really didn't deserve. They say trouble comes in two's, and for Micki, it did. Being very close to her dad, she had already taken Xmas gifts to him a few hours driving distance away and spent some valuable time with him. In spite of her personal loss, she still continued to care for Carla and her patients at the Chemung County Nursing Facility in Elmira.
Nancy, a lady at Congressman Houghton's Office helped me obtain Social Security at age 62. This at a time when finances were lean and "Money ='d Care" for Carla. Bless her for assisting and let me not forget Wendy, the Office Manager who though I feel let us down - or perhaps Carla would still be here, did assist in referring our case to Assemblyman Winner's office in Elmira, and was a good listener when I needed to blow off steam.
Naturally no more needs to be said relative to the Counties handling of our affairs, however nurses and staff workers for Social Services and "C A R E" did do their best to assist where possible. It was not their fault as workers, that benefits were unconscionably withheld by their bosses.
Also, I can not thank enough - the volunteers who helped me so much early when it was so badly needed. Most who were themselves having a difficult time making ends meet and trying to survive.
To everyone who helped with this web page by their "comments and especially to Valerie Nobles, PP, & Patty at CAVACO, for editing (by email), I extend a heartfelt -- Thank you.
Very truly and respectfully,
Bob Sindelar

Today on American Justice Files, Mrs. Noel, owner of a dog that mauled and killed Ms. Whipple, went to prison for her death. My heart goes out to victims of crime and injustice, but reprehensible is when the Internal Revenue Service is allowed to cause wanton pain and suffering sufficient to cause death, but remains "free" of accountability and criminal retribution. Where is our American Justice? Please someone, I'd like to know!
