Murray Hiebert Jailed

A corrupt judiciary jailed him for angering the wife of an appeal court judge

"And many are surprised at the speed with which the case raced through Malaysia's legal labyrinth". For this mild statement, Canadian journalist for Far East Economic Review Murray Hibert was sentenced to 3 months jail for 'scandalizing and damaging the integrity of the court' in an article about a legal suit brought by the son of an Appeal Court judge who was dropped from a high school debate team. His sentence was reduced to 6 weeks on  appeal. Hiebert elected to serve his sentence rather than continue a hopeless fight against a corrupt judiciary especially when he had been stuck in the country for almost 2 years waiting for his case to be settled. The question is, how can a judicial system which has  turned itself into a whorehouse be scandalized further?
