Vote "NO" to a Republic
Don't let Malcolm Turnbull give a blank cheque to Parliament
1. Republics are usually associated with civil wars, revolution, death, torture, slavery, and uncertainty of land tenure as freehold and leasehold become State land or native title.
2. When Parliament tries to depose the Queen, it is an unlawful Revolt Against God, Queen and the People.
3. S.70A of the new constitution by inserting "until Parliament otherwise provides", allows Parliament at any time to take all the President's Crown prerogative powers (including Land Title), making Parliament the undoubted Sovereign instead of the Queen, but YOU have not been told this.
4. This Republic gives more power to politicians forever- but no benefits to YOU, only more taxes and confiscation of land by the Republic.
5. Becoming republican will deprive us of national independence and the checks and balances of an independent umpire. All senior party politicians have lied to us.
6. The description given of the Proposed Alteration is faulty, fraudulent and misleading.
7. Having to decide on over 70 Changes as One Change is totalitarian, NOT democratic.
8. A "Yes" vote gives the politicians a blank cheque to do as they like with the constitution, without any checks and balances against future dictators.
9. S.127 (Definitions) says that Parliament can make laws any time to determine who is or is not an Australian citizen, which means Parliament can ignore Constitution S.44(i) on eligibility for Parliament, and declare any foreigner(s) able to sit in Parliament, or be made the President. Allowing Parliament to decide the definition of citizenship means that at some future time a political party in power could exclude any individual or group or race of people from being Australian citizens.
10. The Prime Minister can (under this constitution) leave his chosen President (perhaps a foreign 'citizen') in office forever, because the stipulated 5-year term means nothing.
11. A Prime Minister can remove the President at will, and vest both law and power in himself, and none can stop him, just like Hitler did in 1933, when he became both President and Chancellor.
12. The new Constitution allows the Prime Minister to arrange for his own choice to be President, totally disregarding the Presidential Nominations Committee's list.
13. The Prime Minister is not forced to fill a Presidential vacancy, which means Parliament could continue indefinitely, with no President to dissolve it and call an election,
The present Constitution Preamble has been included in all Constitution Booklets printed during the last 100 years, so republicans cannot say we have no preamble TO our Constitution.
