dan walters likes music.

Top 5 music-related pet hates:

  1. People who like music 'ironically'. It's either good or it's not. If you enjoy it, admit it. If you don't, fuck off.
  2. Well-adjusted, happy girls who pretend they understand The Smiths.
  3. Indie snobbery
  4. People who whinge that they don't like a song because it's been 'overplayed'. Get off your sofa and do something other than watching MTV.
  5. (a) Indie kids who imagine that dance fans can't feel their pain and anguish
    (b) Dance fans who think indie kids are a load of depressing tossers.

Good music websites:

The most comprehensive web encyclopedia of popular music, includes biographies of pretty much every band ever, most band websites (official and fan sites), and it links in to the All Music Guide pages which provide really good contexts for the bands.
You don't have to buy the NME any more! It's mostly on here - at least all the news and reviews are, even if not all the features, plus it has an archive of old reviews.
Similar to the above, for the more mainstream minded Q readers amongst you (like myself).
