dan walters has a history.
Plopped out into this world in Torbay hospital (in Devon) on budget day weighing 10 lb
Gurgled a bit
Gurgled a bit more, probably managed the odd "dada"
Chopped up some woodlice with gardening forks
Psychocandy by the Jesus and Mary Chain is released. At the age of four I declare it to be the most important record since Never mind the Bollocks.
Started full-time education, at Hazeldown primary school in my home town of Teignmouth. Liked it so much I'm still at it fifteen years later.
Decided that it would be a really good idea to become a computer geek. Started out with Postman Pat's Trail Game on the ZX Spectrum (my brother's).
Liverpool FC's outstanding performance during the late '80s had nothing to do with my decision around this time, as a Devonshire boy, to start supporting them. Oh no.
Ghostbusters II was the momentous event of the year for me.
Get dragged across the south of England to Kent. Not the wisest of moves by my parents, to be honest.
Whole family involved in a big old car crash. Not very nice. On the other hand, one of the best years ever for music - Primal Scream, Nirvana, R.E.M, the Mary Chain, U2, Manics, etc.
Start secondary school, a single-sex state grammar called the Norton Knatchbull (urgh). Over the next five years, I almost forget what girls look like.
Bit of a non-event, this year.
I actually start buying my own music, and listening to Radio 1 (it was good then). Not bad timing, as Definitely Maybe, Parklife and Dog Man Star are all released.
The year of Britpop! Plus at school history changes for me from ranking below science to my favourite subject altogether. Cheers Mr. Jackson!
I start a band with a couple of mates from school, which lasts until A-Levels.
Labour win the election and I start 6th Form.
I rediscover a lost love of acting, then just as quickly forget it again.
I am now allowed to drink in pubs legally. I start appreciating drum 'n' bass, which is quite fortunate as I start at King's College in October.
A year of full-on political hackery.
Chilled out a bit.
