New Party Platform
1. Contribute to World Peace
We aim to contribute to the building of a new world order by establishing Japan as a responsible, trusted and ethical member of the world community and as a nation which actively strives to promote peace.
2. Maintain An Open Political System
We aim to remain fully attentive to our responsibilities and moral duties as politicians and to establish an open political system trusted by the Japanese people.
3. Maintain Economic Growth
We aim to maintain the vigor of the Japanese economy by establishing a new economic framework that will enable Japan to address the problems of de-industrialization, unemployment and the appreciation of the yen.
4. Realize Smaller Government
In order to lessen government's burden on the public we aim to establish smaller government by resolutely carrying out administrative reform, deregulation and federal decentralization.
5. Teach Morals to Japanese Youth
With respect for our traditional culture we aim to teach morals to Japanese youth so as to realize a higher quality of education and an enriched family life for Japan's citizens.
6. Establish a Science and Technology Oriented Society
By encouraging basic and creative scientific reseach, and the development of advanced technology, we aim to make Japan a leader in science and technology and a scientific information center open to all nations.
7. Establish A Society Based on Cooperation Between Men and Women
We encourage women to display their talents in the community, the work place, and political world, so Japan may establish a society where men and women work harmoniously together for the common good.
8. Nurture Rich, Meaningful Lives for Our Citizens.
Japan faces the emergence of an "aged society" in which there will be fewer youth. So that all Japanese may enjoy rich, meaningful lives, we are determined to improve the health care and welfare systems, support increased volunteer activity, and encourage active social participation by the aged.
