The Wellington Declaration

On this day, 25th March 2000, the following statement was agreed.


1   Public Administration

The APD Youth declares its support for individual school control of the disbursement of their public and private funds.


2   Private Property and Enterprise

The APD Youth calls for privatisation of public utilities in countries where competing private utilities have already emerged.


3   Democracy

The APD Youth applauds the message of reconciliation issued by President Wahid upon his visit to the people of East Timor, and expresses its hope that East Timor can achieve a smooth transition to democracy and a market economy, with the support or encouragement of Indonesia.
