  • When Nawabzada Nasrullah gives a call for a country-wide strike for Feb 05, it is a patriotic decision. When FPCCI leaders call for a strike on Mar 25, they are creating a law and order problem. What a way to go !

  • The Government makes a big fuss about the FPCCI strike. PTV News gives ad nauseum coverage to this event. Ministers coming all the way to Karachi to convince the traders to rethink. Government officials making a beeline to the FPCCI to put some sense into the office-bearers. Why don’t they do the same thing to news about massacres in Karachi, and why don’t they visit the victims’ families. What a way to go !

  • Why waste nearly a million dollars on an elitist fashion extravaganza during the PM’s yatra to USA. How many people even in Pakistan can afford the Glitterati and Sheetal copy-ons, what to mention about the discerning US consumer. This money (three crores plus) could have been given to the victims of the various massacres in Karachi. Alas, Raana Shaikh takes priority. What a way to go !

  • Murtaza Bhutto’s volunteers can brandish firepower with impunity cause he is after all the PM’s sibling. Are Dr. Farooq Sattar or Capt. Halim Siddiqi allowed this privilege. What a way to go !

  • EPB provided a list of 111 foreign buyers attending the PTCF ‘95. However, in the list there were nearly 20 journalists out here on a joy trip. Is Khaleej Times a textile buyer. Is the Islamic Chamber of Commerce a foreign buyer. What a way to go !
