The next meeting of the Mount Vernon Democratic Committee will be on Tuesday, February 9, at the Mount Vernon Government Center.  The meeting will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Notes from the Steering Committee

The MVDC Steering Committee met on Tuesday, the 19th, to discuss activities for the next two months.  We decided to have the George Washington Birthday Dance (Gala) in March, so that our delegates would be able to attend without rushing back from Richmond.  We will be discussing plans for the dance at the February 9th meeting.

We will also be discussing our Precinct Workers Thank You party, as well as plans for the next year.  Please plan to attend...we haven’t seen each other in a long time!

Gerry Hyland will host his 12th Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, January 30, at 8:30 p.m. at the Islamic Saudi Academy, 8333 Richmond Highway (Old mount Vernon High School).  Gerry will present an overview of the Mount Vernon District.  Invited guests include Kate Hanley, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Bob O’Neill, the County Executive, Daniel Domenech, Superintendent of Schools, Dana Kauffman, Joe Gartlan, Toddy Puller, Captain Tyrone Morrow, Mount Vernon commander, Captain Steve Hardgrove, Franconia district, Colonel Michael A. Leeper, Garrison Commander of fort Belvoir.

These meetings are always informative and its nice to see our neighbors and friends!  Hope to see you there!!

Precinct Manuals

FCDC has edited and reorganized its precinct manual.  MVDC has purchased several.  They will be available at the February 9th meeting, for those who are interested in having one.
