What is Palliative Care ?
Palliative care is care given when curative treatment for a progressive illness is no longer an option.

It includes emotional and spiritual support for patient and family and physical care with special attention to pain and other symptoms by specially trained nurses.

Palliative care encourages participation of patient and family in decisions concerning their care and independence as far as possible.

Palliative care also provides support and counselling during bereavement.
