"It is true that most pain can be relieved but that is not the end of it of course," Dr Nitschke said.
He went on to say:
"Many terminally ill people also think of loss of body image, ignominy, humiliation, vomiting, nausea and itching. There are all sorts of things that make quality of life deteriorate to such an extent that people want to die. Of the three cases in the NT, none of them was in severe pain. They didn't come to the Territory for palliative care. They came for access to that law."
