You could call this area "eclectic." Or you could call it "schizophrenically disorganized." That's your call, but I call the following stuff COOL. That's about all these things have in common!
Would you believe this graphic got Fade2Black magazine in trouble?? You'd think they'd win a Clio or something.
Cool real-life quote of my recent memory:
When I asked my sis if she'd seen Titanic yet, she said: "On my 41st birthday, the last thing I want to see is a movie about sinking ships!" (Yes, wit does run in the family! And...yes, I am adopted. Really.)
Cool Seinfeld Sites:
Since the best show in TV history is soon to be gone forever (or as "forever" as syndication will permit), you should say goodbye via these two great sites.
A Tribute to George Costanza : This site has the answering machine message in which George sings the theme from "The Greatest American Hero" and lots of pics of Jason Alexander in his underwear.
"Seinfeld"-O-Matic : This site will generate storylines at random; it's basically a slot machine of plots. A hoot.
Riven and its precursor, Myst, are the coolest of all possible diversions. If somehow you've managed to miss out on playing either of these brilliant games, don't deny yourself the pleasure any longer. You'll live in the worlds created by Rand and Robin Miller and their gang at Cyan until you've solved the mysteries.
Communication Workers of America : I once had the great privilege of being a steward in this fine union, until I turned and became "the man." Wish CWA members especially good luck as they begin 1998 contract bargaining with corporate giant AT&T.
Crimescene is a cool, scary site. Detective Terence Nelson of the Yoknapatawpha County Sherriff's Dept. posts new details of a grisly crime committed in or near William Faulkner's hometown of Oxford, Mississippi each week. Visitors to the site are encouraged to try their hand at solving the crimes and to ask questions, leave tips, etc. The folks who put together Crimescene are extremely imaginative and no details are left to chance. They even created a "web site" for local cult band Ego Shovel. Awesome and creepy.
I'm sending you through the front door at The Hub, where Crimescene resides, because the Hub is cool too and has a cool archive of Urban Legends. The Hub!
