Those who don’t speak out against the War on Drugs support this vile policy.  The truth is that if the War on Drugs had to be passed as a constitutional amendment – despite billions spent to convince public of its legitimacy – it would fail miserably, simply because they would actually have to talk about it.  Nobody ever has or will defend it in anything resembling a public forum.   It – and its supporters – behave EXACTLY like an abusive partner.  The primary strategy is hiding from the truth and its biggest weapon is “not open for discussion” with real and implied consequences for persistence.  When confronted its response is EXACTLY threefold:

1] Change the subject

2] Present forum with false choices

3] Put confronter on defensive for choosing against them

The War on Drugs has lured us into a world of profiteers and racketeers and has falsely portrayed itself as THE alternative.  We can deal with these people without drug laws… and furthermore, if we boot the drug war out of our lives – as we should with all abusive partners – there will be fewer of these people to deal with.

The drug war is absolutely dependent on the silence of all our leaders and their silence is truly the strongest kind of support possible.
