On one aspect of public safety I'm in total agreement with my two crime party opponents: drug legalization would send the wrong message to our children. Legalization would strongly imply that things have changed since the beginning of the idiotic drug prohibition and that it is now OK to legalize. The fact is that nothing has changed; it was just as stupid at its beginning as it is now. Instead we should decriminalize and relicense.

My favorite expression at home is "what do you expect?". I use it whenever my 5 year old girl goes across the street and starts teasing the boys and comes back crying. You do something stupid you shouldn't be surprised at the consequences. Whenever you have drug prohibition there are drug houses, street gangs, lots of extra crime, rampant drug abuse and horrendous drugs that mess up peoples' lives. We had it during Prohibition and should have learned something from that mistake; that makes this War on Drugs pure unadulterated stupidity.

When a mature adult makes a mistake they acknowledge it. They state "I'm sorry. I made a mistake. There's no way I can undo it, but I'll do better in the future." That's the message we need to be sending to our children about the drug war.

We won't hear that from our crime party candidates or our lame duck incumbents; they still want leadership positions within the two crime parties [they say it's for your own good; they want to help their constituents]. Instead they will blame the problems that their mistakes have caused on other people like liberal judges or guns - or even malcontents such as myself who "undermine the will to win" this ridiculous crusade. You might hear the "everybody does it" excuse too. In my household that won't work. I won't condone my children deliberately doing stupid things with dire consequences and neither should voters with their crime party candidates. 1
