The commercial news media is touting an "unusual" alliance of "leftist" environmental and consumer groups teaming up with the "right wing" National Taxpayers' Union to promote cuts in Corporate Welfare. This has elicited screams of betrayal from the parasitic CEOs - despite the fact that only a paltry 12.5 billion or so is involve. These taxpayer freeloaders are used to the bogus taxpayers' association looking the other way [while demagoguing "bureacrats" and public employee unions] while taxpayers send tens of billions [85 -150 billion depending on how you classify welfare payments] through their coffers. These parasites should feel grateful to the NTPU; these token cuts may forestall a real taxpayer backlash from citizen taxpayers that could virtually eliminate "welfare as we know it" for these fat cats. They should also take the rest of the advice that I gave candidate Dole over a year ago: they should make similar token cuts in military spending - before anyone with a forum starts to second guess the 4L war strategy that drives "defense" spending. We currently spend 250+ billion for a defacto multinational goon squad to protect and promote foreign investments - largely in 3rd world hellholes with slave wage labor pools and unfettered access to resources [ie. major environmental trashing]. Hopefully, the recent behavior of the National Taxpayers' Association signals a major change in policy - like actually serving the real interests of taxpayers [for a change!]. Possibly even Oregon's own Bill Sizemore will follow their lead and begin to take a more evenhanded approach to curbing government spending. We can only hope.
