But there needs to be an "inflation" type correction here:
grade inflation. The rule I heard is that today it takes 2
years of college to get a "high school education".  That is,
what is now taught in college for the first year or two is
"remedial" material that used to be expected of high school
graduates during the 1950's  and 60's.
