Dr. Joycelyn Elders has all the right stuff needed to be a great doctor, a great human being and a great Surgeon General of the US. She was forced out of office by narrowminded right-wing freaks who haven't a clue about what it takes to be a great anything. Joycelyn speaks at conferences and related events to empower women and others to live healthy and satisfying lives. She has powerful presence, insight and wisdom. She has pediatric expertise and teaching credentials of the hightest caliber. Her book, "Joycelyn Elders: from Sharecropper's Daughter to Surgeon General..." is a real gem. She is a genuine force behind health care reform, sex education reform, drug/tobacco/alcohol education, safe sex, real choice, human rights, economic rights, family planning and healthy food. For doing so much to make the world a better place and for having intimate knowledge of what is wrong with the US and the world, Joycelyn Elders has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
