Ronnie Dugger edited and published the Texas Observer. He
founded the Alliance for Democracy (which now has 55 chapters)
and its political journal Deep Democracy. He knows we need to
salvage democracy from the corporatocracy which has largely
destroyed democracy. He knows we need to deepen and energize
democracy by stripping corporations of their false rights (the
legal fiction "persons") and putting the electoral
process back in the hands of real persons. He knows we need
public financing of elections and a single-payer healthcare
program. We need to move from deep doo-doo to deep democracy. For
being the fearless editor/publisher of the Texas Observer and for
teaching, editing, writing, speaking and actively pursuing the
dream of Deep Democracy, Ronnie Dugger has been named Futuresaver
