Some people think that George Carlin is a nasty twit. Even
George sometimes thinks he is a nasty kind of guy. 'Taint so.
Beneath his crusty exterior there beats a fart of gold and
flashes many gems of truth. He knows that the problem with
strictures is that they strict you. It's like a flock of rabid
chickens pecking you to death. But have no fear, George is here
protecting you from the slings and errors of outrageous prickings.
Give up, censor folk. There's not much use trying to protect
children from verbal shit because they'll learn it anyhow from
their peers. If you read every word of his book BRAINDROPPINGS
and/or attend several of his performances, you will agree with me
that George Carlin is thoroughly infused with the goodness of
reality. For being a really funny comedian with a very clear
perception of the flaws and injustices of the economic, political
and moral power structure, for bringing to a wide audience the
facts of life denied/hidden by organizational dogmatisms and for
introducing a deeply-felt commonsense into the pool of human
