Gael Murphy heads the Washington D.C. office of CODEPINK. She has a Bachelor's Degree and three Master's degrees. She has worked in Africa and the Caribbean. She has served as a grants evaluator and Committee Chair for the Threshold Foundation. She is on the executive committee of CODEPINK and is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Occupation Watch Center. She is a steering committee member of United for Peace and Justice. She has traveled extensively and has lived in Africa and Europe. She is documenting social justice issues and women's activism in the USA and the Middle East. She is a co-founder of CODEPINK. She is opposed to Israeli war crimes in Gaza and elsewhere as all decent folks shoud be. She has seen the results of Israeli and USA war crimes in the Middle East. She sees herself as a citizen of the world. She is featured in the film FINDING OUR VOICES narrated by Martin Sheen which facilitates discussion about democracy, free speach and how individuals can make a difference. She knows that the Bush Administration became a vast lie factory guilty of numerous war crimes. She helped organize a mass civil resistance with 370 others in front of the White House. She wants to help Obama find the road to peace. For being smart enough to realize that you do not make peace by waging war, Gael Murphy has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
