Andre Carson is the new Democratic Congressman for the 7th district of Indiana. He won the special election in March 2008 and the general election in November 2008. Carson wants to bring home the troops safely from Iraq in a timed withdrawal, provide seniors with affordable health care and with affordable drugs, create jobs at home and stop sending jobs overseas, create tax relief for the middle class, assure access for quality health care for all, fix our broken education system by reforming No Child Left Behind and by providing more funding and more flexibility, have an accountable and workable immigration system, achieve energy independence by embracing numerous altenative energies to replace our existing dependence on foreign oil by developing the alternatives and increasing their efficiencies, create a safer and more efficient American transportation system by investing in a modern rail system, creating a just resolution to international war crimes and genocides, retrain gulf coast workers to rebuild areas destroyed by hurricanes including repairing and rebuilding damaged schools, create equal rights for all women including equal pay for equal work, increased funding for breast cancer and ovarian cancer research and for ending domestic violence.
