FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 2-28-2009

Better

Bill Foster is the newish Democratic Congressman for Illinois' 14th district, winning the special election to replace the resigned Republican Dennis Hastert on March 8, 2008. Foster has been a high energy particle physicist, a fellow of the American Physical Society and a creator of advanced theater lighting. He is for ending the war in Iraq, increasing alternative energy research, immigration reform, universal health care, fiscal responsibility, reducing the national debt and better House ethics. He was endorsed by all five newspapers in his district, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, Elgin Courier News and Northern Star. He knows that we need a poliltical solution in Iraq, not a military one. He says the Bush Administration's mistaken instigation and incompetant execution of the war in Iraq will go down as one of the greatest foreign policy blunders in history and that the damage that has been done to the reputation and strength of the United States by the conduct of this war will take decades to repair--longer even than the time that will be needed to pay down the Bush Administration's contribution to our national debt. He is fully aware of the massive perils of global warming and is fully commited to fix this problem in the way that does the least damage to our plans for economic survival in the U.S./world. For working hard and smart to provide a decent society for all of us, Bill Foster has been named Futuresaver of the Week. Click the links below for more information.
