Debbie Halvorson is the new Democratic Congresswoman for the 11th district of Illinois, replacing retiring Jerry Weller, a Republican by defeating Republican Marty Ozinga. Debbie is for health care that is affordable and accessable for everyone and which will not bankrupt small businesses who cover their employees, for ending the Iraq war and bringing the troops home safely and giving troops fully adequate medical attention and job searches when they leave the armed forces, for better schools with higher standards and affordability and proper performance measures, for a real middle class with more opportunities and adequate pay and a secure retirement, for less pollution and less global warming and less dependence on foreign oil and for more clean/affordable/renewable alternative sources of energy, for tax relief for working Americans, for complete protection of the Social Security system from privitization and other efforts of the very rich to profit at the expense of working Americans, for protection from weakening Medicare and for good and very clean government free from private sources of corruption and bribery with the highest caliber of ethics and responsibility.
