Ronnie Musgrove is a Democrat trying to replace the Republican U.S. Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi. Musgrove was Governor of Mississippi. He is for a comprehensive plan than will lower gas prices and lead to energy independence from Middle East oil by increasing fuel efficiency and investing in alternative renewable energy. He wants to crack down on Wall Street speculators that are damaging our economy. He wants to improve education and job creation and lower tuition costs. As Governor he balanced the Mississippi budget without raising taxes. He wants to attract new businesses and develop existing ones. He wants to teach prisoners skills by building senior housing and he supports flexible federal block grants for crime programs. He supports principles embodied in the Equal Rights Amendment. He wants to use federal funds for nuclear cleanup, with state input. He wants more state autonomy on brown fields and superfund cleanups. He supports state revolving loan fund for flexible clean water. He supports national drought policy, focusing on readyness. He wants to maintain water flow in Mississippi rivers. He wants to encourage father's participation in child raising and to have federal funds and state involvement in fatherhood initiatives.
