Darcy Burner is the Democratic candidate to replace the current Republican U.S. Congressman for the 8th district of Washington, Dave Reichert. She is for taxpayer protections and reforms of the current financial crisis. She knows we need to restore oversight of the market and strengthen the regulations weakened by 8 years of Bush/Cheney. We need to fix what the Bushies wrecked. We must restore full constitutional rights and serve all the people instead of just the richest people who became so greedy that they screwed up the whole system. She wants to end secret meetings, gifts and lobby-funded travel with no exceptions. She wants to return full control of Iraq to Iraqis and end all US military control there after benchmarks have been successfully completed. She wants to implement all 9/11 Commission recomendations so we can be fully safe and secure. She wants to make sure that the entire Middle East can live in decency instead of being abused by endless warfare. The USA should have good relations with every nation in the Middle East. All promises to veterans should be kept in full. Education needs to be improved for all not just for the children of the very rich. Every American should have access to quality health care without having to face bankruptcy and homelessness. We need fair trade, reproductive choice, retirement security, unfettered medical research, tax fairness, energy independence and a decent environment.
