Linda Ketner is a businesswoman and is the Democratic candidate to replace the current Republican U.S. Congressman for the first district of South Carolina, Henry Brown. Linda is for a much better education in South Carolina to greatly improve the current graduation rate (at the very bottom of the 50 states). A quarter of South Carolinions are functionally illiterate. Better education = better jobs. She wants to close the achievement gap between poor and middle class children with full education funding for all children. She wants to invest in creating better teachers and better principals. She wants to create energy independence and greatly reduce energy-related pollution. She wants to create clean air and water and reduce global warming. She wants to add more wind, solar, tidal, wave and hydrogen power and greatly increase fuel economy standards and do all the other things necessary to raise us out of digging and drilling in the earth which causes more pollution on land, sea and air. She knows we need to greatly improve care and benefits for veterans. She knows we need to do what is necessary to improve the economy now and in the future. She knows that all Americans need to have proper and effective medical care that is affordable. She knows that we must manage economic growth without destroying the beauty and quality of life that we all need and cherish. She knows that America must end its oil and other resource-based wars.
