Vivian Davis Figures is a Democrat trying to replace the Republican U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama. She is for better priorities such as troops home from Iraq, better educational benefits for veterans, better education for children, affordable quality healthcare and prescriptions, federal programs that actually benefit many people, better jobs, better security, tax breaks for ordinary people but no tax breaks for the wealthiest, subsidized home health care/daycare, strong ethics and disclosure rules for Congress/lobbyists, no subsidies for polluting industries and more subsidies for the creation of non-poluting industries. She helped build a home when she chaired Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program in Mobile which illustrates her committment to provide shelter for the vulnerable. She wants to reverse the decay of American decency and democracy that has characterized the last 8 years of wrong-headed wars and super-rich financial scheming that has triggered the decline and fall of American decency and opportunity. We need government that helps us all to become prosperous and productive instead of helping only the most corrupt of the wealthy to prey on financially-brainwashed victims. Vivian is serving her third full term in the Alabama State Senate where she is recognized for dedicated community and legislative service.
