John Yarmuth is the new Democratic Congressman for the 3rd district of Kentucky. He wants fair and equitable farm legislation that promotes healthier diets and lifestyles. He wants healthy small business, a strong educational system and a well-paid work force. He wants increased investment in the development and production of domestic and renewable fuels so that we can create true energy independence. He knows that we need to protect our environment for current and future generations so that we can successfully fight global warming and other environmental disasters. He knows that our lands and waters and skies must be protected for now and for the future and that we must stop Mountaintop mining which creates disasterous pollution and we must protect our lands, parks, lakes and streams. He wants to take immediate action to employ our troops out of harm's way and to negotiate with others to end the Iraq war and end all wars and to create a peaceful world dedicated to progress and peace not bombs and disaster and genocide and starvation and terror. Responsibility not bombs. He wants to guarantee every American access to quality affordable health care/insurance. He wants to make sure that all Americans have retirement security that is not dependent on the slings and arrows of corporate economic downturns.
