Janet Napolitano is the Democratic Governor of the State of Arizona. Her priorities are education, economy, protecting Arizonans, smart growth and health. She is for a quality modern education system from pre-K through universities. She secured raises in teacher pay, offered full day kindergarten, improved high school graduation rates and scores, tripled Arizona student financial aid, improved university enrollment and graduation rates, broke ground on a new medical school and increased math and science and other classroom spending. She helped create a better Arizona and other states economy as Chair of the National Governors Association. She helped secure the border and crack down on crime with a comprehensive system of reforms. She coordinated smart growth in Arizona with a comprehensive system of reforms and actions. She helped keep Arizonans healthy with free prescription drug discount cards, a web-based electronic health records system which reduced medical errors, redundent testing and administrative costs while increasing the quality of medical care. She helped reduce cigarette addiction and secondhand smoke. She expanded bioscience improvement of pathogen genomics. She helped to give schools the authority to give families information about health care for their children.
