Ruth Ann Minner is the Democratic Governor of the State of Delaware. Her 2007 agenda was to discourage cigarette smoking through the Delaware Healthy Life Fund; to increase the availability of health care information; to improve education via the STAR Scholarship Program and the Increase Math Specialists in Middle Schools program; to improve the environment with Curbside Recycling and other aspects of recycling and with requirements to disclose environmental liabilities of facilities that process hazardous substances in order to make a more livable Delaware. She wants to preserve rural lands for the future. She wants to encourage long term development of new high wage employment for a more prosperous and stable future. She wants to increase child passenger safety. She wants to make cigarettes less likely to create fires. She wants to improve emergency communications. She wants to eliminate open containers of alcohol in the passenger compartment of motor vehicles to reduce accidents. She wants to improve the proceedures of hiring to make the process flexible and responsible. She wants to improve the voting process. She wants to insure that domestic partners of all state employees have the same benefits. She wants to improve transportation infrastructure throughout the state of Delaware and improve campaign finance procedures.
