Niki Tsongas is the new Democratic Congresswoman for the 5th district of Massachusetts. She favors setting a date for withdrawal of USA troops from Iraq and seeking a political solution there. She favors better treatment of returning Iraq war veterans. She is for making quality affordable health care available for all Americans. She wants to create better economic opportunities by encouraging small businesses and other businesses to stay in the USA and prosper through better education and training and less obsticals to advancement. She wants Congress and the President to act strongly to limit greenhouse gasses and other pollutions that increase global warming and other disasters. She wants to exploit alternative technologies that help end our costly addiction to foreign oil. She wants to strengthen and enhance our schools to better the lives of individuals and businesses. She wants to make college affordable for all Americans. She wants to use smarter and better techniques to enhance homeland security. She wants to increase public safety by having more police in neighborhoods, getting guns off the street and giving better training and tools to police. She wants government to be smarter, less corrupt, more aligned with what ordinary folk want/need and geared to create peace not war.
