Blanche Lincoln is the Senior United States Senator from Arkansas and a Democrat. She wants to make energy independence a national priority by increasing the use of alternative fuels and by increasing the fuel efficiency of vehicles and other energy-guzzling devices. She was the youngest woman to ever serve in the U.S. Senate. She co-sponsored legislation to assist state and local governments in providing equal protection of all voters to reduce voter intimidation and other sources of vote fraud in recent elections. She wants to reduce racially-targeted traffic stops and other racially-skewed enforcements. She wants to increase the Pell grant so more students can go to college. She wants to hasten the return of U.S. troops home from Iraq. She wants trade agreements that are more fair to U.S. workers and companies. She wants to better serve the cause of missing and exploited children. She wants to insure that discrimination does not keep anyone from any group from getting their full civil and political rights. She wants to improve Medicare so that it puts more emphasis on preventing illnesses and reduces further the cost of prescription drugs. She wants to improve the medical care in rural areas. She wants to create solutions to the hunger crisis in the USA and around the world. She voted against restrictions on travel to Cuba.
