Jerry McNerney is the new Democratic Congressman for the 11th district of California. He is against pre-emptive war which definitely includes the Iraq war. We need to end the occupation of Iraq with a timeline and diplomatic measures in cooperation with other nations. He is for Social Security without a personal investment scheme. He is for a system of affordable quality health care for every American. He is for federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. He is for high quality education for all students. He is for a healthy environment with clean air and pure water without ground water contamination, better levees and all-around better stewardship of the environment so that we and other lifeforms can be healthier and jobs can be more productive and pleasant. We need to research and develop more efficient solar energy and all other promising replacements for dirty coal and dirty oil. We need a sustainable economy not a destructive one and a sustainable population not an all-consuming one and a sickly one. We need an industry and a government that improves livability instead of destroying livability with pollution, wars and other disasters. We need to stop creating astronomical deficets that will require astronomical payments by citizens. We need to require the wealthy to pay their fair share instead of giving them tax cuts. We need to fix all of the problems created by the current immoral and greedy administration.
