Diane Watson is the Democratic Congresswoman for the 33rd district of California. She is very concerned about improving health, especially the obesity epidemic, the diabetes epidemic and the cardiovascular epidemic. She wants to improve the congested transportation system in Los Angeles by creating smart neighborhoods with mixed-use development, MTA Rapid Bus and other improvements. She wants to improve the entertainment and information industries. She wants USA troops out of Iraq altogether and better diplomacy in Iraq and no permanent bases in Iraq. She opposed the troop escalation. She wants Congressional Oversight over administration policy and action. She opposed the original administration Use of Force Resolution against Iraq. She wants to use diplomacy not war with respect to Iran. She wants to use personnel and technology to control immigration not more walls/fences. She wants better education for law-abiding immigrants. She wants reasonable conditions for seasonal workers. She wants to reduce media consolidation to provide free flow of information in society. She wants better and less expensive access for seniors to medical care and prescription drugs. She wants welfare reform not welfare deform. She wants to strengthen Social Security not deform it with privatization which enriches the rich and makes the poor even poorer. She wants to make dental fillings less toxic.
