Dave Loebsack is the new Democratic Congressman for the 2nd district of Iowa. He wants to rectify Bush's failures in Iraq and elsewhere by building positive relations with the community of nations. We need to withdraw troops from Iraq and abandon our military bases in Iraq so that Iraqis can create their own government free from undue influence from the USA or any other nation. American goals can best be met by a peace effort involving cooperation of all nations through an improved version of the United Nations. We need a thorough investigation of how the Iraq war was created so that such an error will not happen in the future. Bombing, invasion and occupation of nations by other nations must totally end. Loebsack favors universal health care coverage of all Americans to end the gross gaps in health care that now exist in the USA. He favors a liveable wage for all workers. He favors fair trade instead of "free trade" which has numerous bad economic and environmental results for many people. He favors improving our education system so that every American has a world-class education. He favors Social Security for all which is endangered by greedy privitization schemes and corporate mismanagement. He wants to protect our environment by investing in alternative fuels, renewable energy, improved water quality, better gas mileage, less carbon emmission and better insulation.
