Grace Napolitano is the Democratic Congresswoman for the 38th district of California. She advocates programs to help prevent gang participation and other youth violence including a Latina adolescent mental health program, after school programs, crime laboratory improvement program, police emergency operations center/lab, new digital radios and juvenile delinquency reduction. She is working to get additional education programs including improved libraries and mentor programs. She is working to improve the environment, health, homeland security, immigration, medicaid, medicare, prescription drug access, mental health, small business, Social Security, temporary aid for needy families and veteran's rehabilitation both physical and mental. She voted against the original congressional resolution to authorize the use of force in Iraq. She believes the US must work with the UN to solve Iraq problems because our unilateral attitude causes great dissent throughout the world and is creating worse problems for Iraq instead of helping Iraq. She opposed the Bush veto of the Iraq Accountability Act, opposed the Bush escalation in Iraq and favors a responsible withdrawal of troops from Iraq because the current military actions are hurting Iraq instead of helping it.
